Jeremy and I when I was 17 and he was 19 after a day in the mountains. Just best friends. (I look lovely, I know, but I love this picture. 10 years ago!)

Two years later - me (20), Jeremy (21) - Jeremy visiting me in D.C.

Engagement Pictures (I don't know why the pictures scanned with that weird white blotch, I can't fix it. It's obviously not like that in the real photo.)

Wedding - again another weird splotch between the scanner and the computer. Oh well.

One of my favorites from that day - this wasn't even one our photographer took. It was just a candid shot somebody got and gave me the print.

My graduation at BYU-Idaho

Lots of trips and vacations with family

Me, 8 months pregnant with Addie. (I had a horrible mother moment when I was looking through all our photos for this post and I can't find a single belly picture when I was pregnant with Davis!)

Addison Grace, 1-12-07

Jeremy graduates!

Family of three - Halloween 2007. (No wait, there is my belly, 4 1/2 months pregnant with Davis!)

Davis Jeremy - 3-27-08

1st Day of Preschool

Today was the first day of Addie's "preschool" - two hours, one morning a week. She was most excited about the backpack. Having those two and a half hours with just Davis was really great, but we were both happy when it was time to pick her up!

Trying to get a nice picture was not happening. They were not in cooperative moods and I waited until the very last minute to try and get something. Maybe next week???

Happy Fall

I guess it's time for a little blogging update. We have been busy with school and our church responsibilities, we haven't done a lot where I've taken pictures. I just have a few funny things that happened at home and I remembered to grab the camera.

I was busy a couple of weekends ago with my latest project - finding an old hutch and fixing it up to use as a bookcase. Here's the finished product - I love the color. It's Sherwin Williams Halcyon Green (even though its the perfect Robin's Egg blue color if you ask me, not at all green) if anybody's interested.

Anyway, after getting that finished, I needed to clean my neglected house. The kids were busily playing (quietly, which should have tipped me off) while I was able to get my kitchen cleaned and some loads of laundry done. When I finally checked on them, I realized the error of my ways....

Do you ever feel like you're working against yourself? (That's my binder of everything for my responsibilities at church and some red crayon that I LUCKILY found only on the bathtub. Oh my.)

Finally, these two have been having so much fun together. Davis always wants to do everything Addie does. Addie is obsessed with everything girly (necklaces, painting her fingernails) and princesses (thank you, cousin Camilla) which explains how I found them brushing their teeth the other night:

Yes, that's nakedness with just a necklace on. The girl loves her accessories.

He loves his big sister!

Also, watch for an update this week of Addie and her first day of preschool. We found a great little church literally up the street from us that does a one morning a week preschool for 2 year olds turning 3. She went to an orientation this week and fell in love with Miss Ashlie and Miss Stefanie.
A lot of my friends here in Omaha are homeschoolers, and through them I have found a great resource that I am going to start using with both of kids here at home. It's a site called "No Time For Flashcards" and she has the best ideas for crafts with toddlers/preschoolers as well as "letter of the day" lesson plans complete with corresponding book recommendations and craft projects. I'll let you know how it goes!

P.S. A week from today is Jeremy and I's (or is it me? I never know) 6 YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. Needless to say we have grand plans....maybe a Redbox and some takeout after the kids are asleep???

Family Pictures

My mom just sent me a copy of the family pictures we had taken when we were in Idaho last month and I had to share some of them! (I'm not sure why some of the pictures got all pixelated when they posted, but it's too late to figure blogger out.)

(And I'm squinting, but it's a cute picture of everybody else!)

(Isn't this the cutest picture - the photographer got all four kids to look AND smile - a miracle! These are my brother's kids...)

House Guests

While we were working in the yard last night, Addie pulled a weed and from behind it popped a baby bunny! We have an adult bunny that has showed up pretty much every evening since we moved in (I think I have posted pictures before) and Jeremy searched and found SIX brand new baby bunnies that were nestled underneath the overhang/deck area of our backyard.

Looking for the bunny.

Summer Vacation, part 3

This is the last part, I swear...

Anyway, after some fun in Boise with Jeremy's family and our friends, we headed up to Donnelly, Idaho to a beautiful cabin for some fun with my side of the family. The cabin was gorgeous and was a five minute walk to the beach/dock area of the lake. Since it was the middle of the week, we practically had the place to ourselves!

My dad has this new tradition of ordering a Carnegie Deli cheesecake (from THE Carnegie Deli) flown out to wherever our little reunions are taking place. I love the tradition, don't get me wrong, it was just an interesting way to end our family's "Biggest Loser" competition. Ha ha. Anyway, that's the explanation of the cheesecake shot below.

Davis is mad here that I picked him up for a picture. He was wading out in the lake in his jeans up to his knees even though it was maybe 55 degrees out (it was early morning).

My little Davis LOVES the water and sand. (Too bad we live in the MIDWEST.) Note the wet jeans and shoe. He could throw rocks and sand into the lake (or river when we were with the Hartleys there) all day. It was FREEZING, he had lost a shoe, and just kept going. Crazy kid! Those of you who know my Addie personally know this was CRAZY - she was so tired but didn't want to go back to the cabin to nap (and truth be told, I didn't want to take her either!) so I gave her the option of sleeping under our canopy on the beach. I was totally shocked that she actually DID!

These two were inseparable. Actually, Addie has so much fun with all of her cousins from California AND Washington! We wish all of you lived closer! I had to steal this picture from my sister-in-law's blog, because it's my SIX year old niece kneeboarding behind my dad's boat. She LOVED it and did SO great! (As opposed to my child who cried just watching people ski from the shore. Ha ha.)

P.S. Jeremy just started classes (FINALLY) for his second year of school. Let's get this show on the road!!! I have to agree with a recent blog post from a new friend Erin (our husbands study together day in and day out together at school and we just finally met this summer!!!) that the blessings we have experienced over the past year in Omaha with friends, family, neighbors, etc. have truly made this medical school thing so far an overwhelmingly positive experience. Here's to getting another year out of the way!!!
