Sorry for the lack of updating lately...been busy and sick, but more on that later. Here are some funny pics of our little girl.
She never crawls anywhere anymore! She is walking everywhere and love walking with me to get the mail. It has snowed here a bunch lately and there is salt ice-melt on our sidewalk and she loves to crunch it underneath her shoes.
She's also babbling tons - who knows what the girl is saying but she certainly thinks we should know what she's saying. Also playing with her tongue a lot - which explains the above picture.
Addison has been loving her books lately. Every morning and after every nap, she pulls all of her books off the shelf and flips through the pages.
A new game for Addie is taking everything out of it's packages, drawers, etc. which is really fun for me.
Great-Grandma & Grandpa Silvester sent Addison a package in the mail for her birthday which came last week. Thanks, guys, it was such a nice surprise!

Sick House
Jeremy and I went to Utah this weekend for a family wedding and to visit my cousin and meet her new baby girl. On Friday night, Addie wouldn't sleep at all and at 3:00 am starting throwing up everywhere!! It was so sad, she was sick every 20-30 minutes until about 7:00 or 8:00 that morning. So needless to say, we weren't able to visit my cousin and her new baby since I wasn't sure what was going on with Addie and didn't dare expose a newborn to such a bad stomach bug. She still wasn't herself on Saturday night and so we were very happy to be home on Sunday afternoon. She is feeling better, still not much of an appetite, but is getting better every day. Poor girl!
And apparently whatever Addison had was contagious because I have been sick all Sunday night and Monday. I got so sick that I started having regular contractions, which was very scary considering I am only 30 weeks along. After I called my midwife, she said having the stomach flu can set off preterm labor and that I needed to get fluids to see if that would stop the contractions.
So Jeremy spent the day with me in the hospital - not fun. They monitored the baby and saw that I was contracting. Before ordering an IV of Terbutaline (a drug that helps stop preterm labor symptoms) my midwife wanted me to get fluids and anti-nausea medicine through an IV. I swear like 5 minutes after the IV was placed I felt so much better. And luckily for everybody the contractions stopped with the fluid and I was able to go home this afternoon. My midwife gave me a prescription for some anti-nausea pills (the stuff works great) and when Jeremy picked it up at the pharmacy, without insurance the prescription would have cost over $300. WHOA. We are very blessed to have good coverage to take care of our family.
Thanks again, Jentry, for watching Addie while we were at the hospital. I am feeling WORLDS better, still pretty nauseated but so much better than this morning. Jeremy has been taking great care of Addison, who was very stressed out this morning when I wasn't up and playing with her and couldn't pick her up. He is also taking great care of me and keeping our house clean and sanitized. He's really been helping out - I can't thank him enough!
Can't wait to feel normal again but am glad that everything is OK with the baby and that we are hopefully on our way to a happy, healthy home again!

One Year Old!
I absolutely cannot believe that Addie is turning one today. Seriously the fastest year of my life. I kept thinking the past few days about what life was like one year ago today. She was still this little stranger and now I can't imagine my life without her. She is getting more personality by the second, getting more independent (walking, yay!), and making us laugh every day. Being a parent and staying home with her is definitely the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my whole life, but I've never felt more inspiration and guidance either (as I'm sure any new mom will tell you). We can't wait to see what new things she will do this next year.
We love you little girl! Happy Birthday!

We're Back!!!
Sorry for the long absence.....Addison got sick on Christmas Eve and life has been hectic since. We don't have many pictures from Christmas Eve or Christmas Day but we had such a fun time with our families.
We had a great party at Grandma Joy's house on Christmas Eve with lots of family. After we took Addison home, she woke at 2:00 am with a high fever (Addison has never had a high fever) and was really agitated. Since we just got back from Mexico and she was having other symptoms, we called the on-call nurse and she told us Addie needed to be seen right away.
So our first trip to the ER with Addison was at 2:30 in the morning Christmas day!!! :(

Here's Addison's hospital bracelet on Christmas Day.....so sad!!!
Luckily she wasn't dehydrated and some lab results came back normal so we were able to go home around 4 am. We all slept in that morning!!! We had a nice Christmas lunch with my parents and then took it easy that night.
Addison was sick for one more week, with her symptoms changing from fever to a rash....
The saddest part of the whole thing was how different our little girl was acting. She is NOT a cuddly baby at ALL....and all we could do all day was hold her. She slept so much and she just didn't look like our little girl. I feel so much for parents who children have much longer and severe illness or health problems....you feel so helpless! We are so lucky to have family and friends close who were able to come help out for a few days.
We are happy to have our little girl back to her healthy, happy, normal self!!!

Here she is on Christmas afternoon with her new table - she loved it but right after opening it immediately took a 3 hour nap!
