What are YOU up to tonight???

Jeremy's at school until 10:00 pm tonight working on a test review for yet another test that is this Saturday.

Which is fine for me, because I have a hot date tonight.

That's right. 8:00 pm. Me, a Diet Coke and the TV. The season premiere of The Office is tonight!!!!

Are you excited???

I am.... 'Cause there ain't no party like a Scranton party cause a Scranton party don't stop...

In other news:

I am finally taking the plunge and moving Addison to a toddler bed and Davis will move from the pack 'n play (poor kid) to the crib. I ordered their bedding this week and when it arrives we will attempt the transition. I will keep everybody updated.

Since I have no pictures still, here's a couple of pictures of the kids' bedding:

Addie's bedding.

Davis' bedding. There was a SUPER cute cowboy themed set but it was seriously like four times as much as this one (I got both of these sets on eBay). I guess cowboy themes are popular for little boys! I think this is more serene for his bed, anyway.

Mondays....

Does anybody else feel like Mondays are just a regroup from the weekend? I usually try to start the weekend on Friday with a nice, clean house so we can just go and do fun things as a family but by Sunday night things are a mess again and I am ready for Monday to get things put back together and regroup.

So no pictures this week, I'm sorry! Jeremy's laptop died and it's the only computer in the house that we had the camera cable for. Yes that's right, Jeremy's laptop finally bit the dust (insert moment of silence here). He TRIED to ACT upset but is really like a kid in a candy store trying to pick out a new one. Obviously it's a little annoying seeing as we are on a set budget being in school, but he needs a computer so he's been shopping and having a great time with it since his computer is really the only thing he ever likes to spend money on, as opposed to me who would rather go shopping. I told him to imagine how he would feel if somehow my wardrobe spontaneously combusted (bags and shoes, too) and I NEED clothes so I would HAVE to go buy a whole new wardrobe. :) He tried to be a little less giddy about the new laptop in front of me after that. Ha ha. Anyway, so hopefully the new laptop will be showing up soon because we have some great pictures!

Other than that, things are picking up here. We've made a friends with a few other student families and I usually do one or two outings a week with them and their kids. Jeremy is getting into a groove at school - another student dropped out this week, bringing the total to I think 6 or 7 students that started classes and then dropped. Crazy!

Did anybody watch the Emmy's last night??? I love seeing the dresses, can do without the political commentary but whatever. Anyway, I thought the five hosts thing would work out great and was a fresh idea, but it stunk! The opening was so awkward I could hardly stand to watch! Jeremy Piven even made fun of the opening in his acceptance speech. Oh man!

Well I've put off the re-grouping long enough! Hopefully we will posting pictures soon!

Week in Review

I know it's a little late for my week in review. I need Jeremy's laptop to post on our blog and its been a bit busy with his school lately!

First things first, Jeremy took his first test on Saturday and it took about four hours. I helped him study the night before and was totally astounded at all of the information! We also got our tuition bill in the mail - the realities of medical school are now upon us. I now have a very strong argument for anybody who says doctors don't earn their salaries. He is already studying for his next text in another two weeks.

Not much else to report on here. The weather has turned almost fall-like so its really nice. I love the fall! Jeremy and I have our five-year wedding anniversary next Saturday. Pretty sure he'll be studying so I'm not planning on doing anything big.

So we have wild cottontail rabbit that comes to visit us. Almost every night it is back there chomping on our grass. We even saw two the other day. I was a bit freaked out about this, but apparently its common around here??? I know it's not the best picture, but it was pretty hard to snap a photo without it running away.

In my effort to fill my day up with things Addison and I can do while Davis is napping, we've been cooking things almost every day. She is a great helper and loves licking the spoon.

This photo is for you, Emily. I TRIED making some homemade flour tortillas this week and this is one of the better looking ones..... Addison had a lot of fun helping me with the little balls of dough, though, so I will keep practicing....

Like I said the weather turned cooler and on Sunday it was really cool before we left for church. I was finally able to pull out some cute fall things for the kids to wear to church so I thought I would snap a picture before we left. My camera died before I could get a picture of the back of Addison's hair it has gotton so curly its so fun. Now if only the sides would grow so she wouldn't have such a mullet....

My little man all dressed for church. These are all 6-12 month clothes and the kid is 5 months old! He has his 6-month well child appointment in a couple of weeks and I am anxious to see how big he has gotten. Luckily Britax has their twice-yearly sale coming up in a couple of weeks because the kid is outgrowing his infant seat every day. I'm sure he will be over the twenty pound weight-limit before I know it.

We love and miss you all! Update your blogs! ;)

Pardon the Interruption...

Can I just go off-topic for a second here???......

So a lot of my D.C. friends have asked me what I think about this year's election and Obama and then McCain's VP pick Sarah Palin. I honestly don't know! I have been very wrapped up in my own little family and was so ticked off at the way the Republicans ran the primaries that I haven't really paid attention.

Mostly just haven't paid attention.

But it bugs me that I don't have any solid opinions on the subject, so I have been trying to surf the internet and actually watch some of the convention coverage and news, although most of that falls during my most busy time of day - getting the kids fed, bathed and to sleep. I did catch Obama's convention address which was really fascinating to watch (that's right I said it).

Anyway, this link is for you Amanda. Actually anybody who enjoys good writing (NOTE: a bit of language towards the end which totally surprised me but go with it).

I L.O.V.E. Peggy Noonan's writing style and she's one of the few columnists I actually try to read on a semi-regular basis because let's be honest the only thing I'm reading on a REGULAR basis is Elmo's Colors and Shapes with Addie.

Peggy Noonan Article

Please no floggings - like I said I am very much on the fence about a lot of this election. Just thought this was such a great perspective I had to share, especially with my girlfriends who I know will be interested.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.... (i.e., pictures of my kids)
