Shout Out

While I'm awake....(see post below)....need to give a huge shout-out to Jeremy for taking such good care of everybody this weekend.

Addison's stomach bug was resurrected on Saturday night and came back with a vengeance on Sunday - the same time I got sick as well! I couldn't get out of bed, so it was totally up to Jeremy to take care of Addie AND Davis AND the house. He did such a great job. Kept the house clean and relatively picked-up, kept Addie clean and hydrated, did like EIGHT loads of laundry (like I said, Addie's stomach bug came back big time), and never ever complained.

It's time for Jeremy to go back to work (his days off are Sunday and Monday) and luckily I am almost 100% recovered and Addie's making good progress as well.

He was exhausted and a tad snippy on Monday night - which makes me feel not so bad when I'm exhausted and a tad snippy (a tad!) at the end of the week. I think he's definitely looking forward to going back to work this afternoon! Oh well, I can't blame him!

As weird as it sounds, it was kind of nice to have an excuse to just stay in for two whole days just us four. No errands to run or things to get to, just two days of hanging out with each other. We'll have to do it again sometime. When we're all healthy, of course.

Thanks, Jeremy - you're the best!!!!!!

(Only pics I have of Jeremy and the kids on this computer....)

What??!?!

Yes, it's 3 am. Davis is sleeping. I am awake. Davis has ALWAYS woken up at 2:00 am to eat. ALWAYS. Since Day 1. Very consistent - so consistent, in fact, that my body has gotten so used to waking at 2 am to feed him that I usually wake up seconds before he does.

And he's still sleeping.

And I'm still awake. (I'm thoroughly convinced that the second I get back to sleep he'll wake up screaming.) Oh the joys of having a newborn.

Ugh....I don't want to talk about it.

As Promised....

...it's not much but here are a few recent photos of the kids...

Here is a weird picture, but I posted it because it's the only one where you can see Addison's huge bottom molars that made their appearance the week we brought Davis home. (Her poor cheeks are red because I took this photo when she was sick and had a fever...)

Cute pictures of Davis in his little PJs.

Month in Review

Cannot believe what a slacker I've been at posting updates but life with two kids is BUSY. A few facts about our life the last month:

2-The number of Addie's new teeth since Davis came home a month ago. Both molars. (Great timing!)

3-The number of hours of sleep we get at night - usually two three-hour stretches. As much as you think you're prepared for the lack of sleep (hey, I've done this before!) it still K-I-L-L-S!

4-The number of burp rags Davis uses in a day. The kid spits up quite a bit, which seems likes tons compared to Addison who never spit up. (Thanks again, Joie, they were the perfect present!)

5-The number of times Addison has barfed in the last 20 hours. Poor girl has a stomach bug, which is awful by itself, but trying to figure out how to keep her away from Davis while still taking CARE of Davis has been interesting. Thank heavens for close friends and family! (She's feeling better this morning, so fingers crossed the sickness is on its way out!)

6-The number of stores I have visited trying to find a cute blessing outfit for Davis. Boys get the shaft in clothes in general I have decided, with a few very cute exceptions. I've been really impressed with the number of cute boy shoes of all things. Anyway, the search continues......

7-The number of times a day I have to tell Addison to not poke Davis' eyes. She is obsessed with his eyes! She has been super cute and protective of him - lately I've caught her lifting up his blanket and saying "Hi!!!"

~~~~
I have no idea where the past four weeks have gone - but with Addie's teeth, her stomach bug, getting used to having Davis around, and getting geared up for May (we have some event every weekend in May, then traveling to Omaha the first weekend in June) we have been keeping busy.
Despite all of the craziness, we are doing well and it's so fun having a new baby boy!
Hope everybody is doing great!
