Elmo Comes to Town

So the Children's Museum's traveling exhibit this summer is Sesame Street Presents: The Body. We were super excited to check it out, even though Addie hasn't really been in to the Sesame Street lately. Elmo was visiting on Saturday and so we took her down to see what she would think.

Holy moly - apparently everybody else had the same idea. It was PACKED and we got there at 9:30 AM (which is a big deal in my world). I stood in the Elmo line (there was line about 50 people long, no joke) while Jeremy took the kids around to see the exhibit. From what I could see from the line, the exhibit looks cool and we will definitely be back at a later date. After we've recovered from the Elmo Mania that was last weekend.

After standing in line for a long time, I was certain Addie would freak because this Elmo guy was HUGE.

Wait for it......

Yay, she finally warmed up to him after I had to sit in the picture. She even blew him a little kiss when our three second (literally THREE second) turn was up. Was it worth it? Absolutely....

Do you SEE that smile??? She couldn't stop talking about "Elmo at the Children's Museum."

Anyway, since the whole top floor was packed with other Sesame fans, we hit up the normally packed but now empty bottom floor. The kids had the place to themselves (practically) and played to their heart's content in the grocery store. P.S. Sorry in advance that every picture of Davis is fuzzy. The kid is literally on the move ALL.OF.THE.TIME.

He carried these (fake) asparagus spears everywhere. So funny.
I think this is why they say to not go shopping hungry. ;)

Summer Fun

What do you do when it's 85 degrees and sunny outside, and you're looking for something to kill time until dinner???

We were interrupted by a visit from this guy:

You'll be happy to know I kept my cool even though I hate the little things.

Angels when they're asleep...

Yesterday was just one of "those" days. Lots of no's and tantrums and butting heads all day long. (Please tell me this stuff doesn't just happen at my house!) Anyway, I went in to check on the kids before going to sleep myself and they just looked so peaceful sleeping there I had to snap a photo. Looking at these photos is the perfect remedy for a hectic day with two toddlers!!!

Airplanes, Plants & a Fun Visit

We were so happy to be able to have my parents come and visit this weekend for my birthday (which is tomorrow, by the way)! Of course the time went by way too fast and saying goodbye is just so hard. We miss being so close to all of our families!
We went to the Strategic Air & Space Museum in a little town about twenty minutes west of Omaha. It was so fun and the kids were able to run around pretty freely.

Taking a snack break in the stroller. You were able to roam around the hangar and walk up to these old airplanes.
You can kind of see all of the planes behind Jeremy. There was a huge one that was hanging from the ceiling right as you walk in!

Future pilot Davis. He loved this little ride/mini airplane. He's very focused.

He could have spent all day in this thing.
That afternoon, we visited this huge nursery that my dad has been itching to visit ever since we moved here. It did NOT disappoint. There was so much stuff and they helped me pick out some beautiful flowers for my front yard. The kids were SUCH big helpers getting the flowers potted. (See below.)

We also visited the Kanesville Tabernacle, a church history site over in Council Bluffs, Iowa. It was the first tabernacle built by members of the church and it was were Brigham Young was sustained as the 2nd president of the church.

We sure do miss *all* of our grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, and friends back in Idaho and out west. Come visit!!!!!

P.S. May is crazy busy month for birthdays - Happy Birthday to Kate, Mitch, Noall,
me, Chad....am I forgetting anybody??

P.P.S. I almost forgot the mo
st exciting news! Jeremy received word that he officially passed his finals and is now an M2. (Second year student.) One down and many, many, many more to go. But ONE down!

Parenting

This is one of those Hallmark cards that play a recording when you open them up. Jeremy gave me this card for Mother's Day -real sentimental but it made me laugh. I thought this was hilarious and I can't find the youtube clip of this episode, so just deal with a recording of the card. Turn your volume up.

Happy Mother's Day

This was my Mother's Day present to myself....recipe here. (I realize it's lumpy but after making the yellow cake layers from scratch, strawberry sauce from scratch and whipped cream from scratch, I just wanted the thing in my mouth. The picture is cropped because by the time I got around to taking a photo, half of it was gone. Hey, I'm just being real here.)

Happy Mother's Day to all of my friends who are, or hope to be, Mothers.
