While we were working in the yard last night, Addie pulled a weed and from behind it popped a baby bunny! We have an adult bunny that has showed up pretty much every evening since we moved in (I think I have posted pictures before) and Jeremy searched and found SIX brand new baby bunnies that were nestled underneath the overhang/deck area of our backyard.
Looking for the bunny.

Summer Vacation, part 3
This is the last part, I swear...
Anyway, after some fun in Boise with Jeremy's family and our friends, we headed up to Donnelly, Idaho to a beautiful cabin for some fun with my side of the family. The cabin was gorgeous and was a five minute walk to the beach/dock area of the lake. Since it was the middle of the week, we practically had the place to ourselves!
My dad has this new tradition of ordering a Carnegie Deli cheesecake (from THE Carnegie Deli) flown out to wherever our little reunions are taking place. I love the tradition, don't get me wrong, it was just an interesting way to end our family's "Biggest Loser" competition. Ha ha. Anyway, that's the explanation of the cheesecake shot below.
Davis is mad here that I picked him up for a picture. He was wading out in the lake in his jeans up to his knees even though it was maybe 55 degrees out (it was early morning).
My little Davis LOVES the water and sand. (Too bad we live in the MIDWEST.) Note the wet jeans and shoe. He could throw rocks and sand into the lake (or river when we were with the Hartleys there) all day. It was FREEZING, he had lost a shoe, and just kept going. Crazy kid! Those of you who know my Addie personally know this was CRAZY - she was so tired but didn't want to go back to the cabin to nap (and truth be told, I didn't want to take her either!) so I gave her the option of sleeping under our canopy on the beach. I was totally shocked that she actually DID!
These two were inseparable. Actually, Addie has so much fun with all of her cousins from California AND Washington! We wish all of you lived closer! I had to steal this picture from my sister-in-law's blog, because it's my SIX year old niece kneeboarding behind my dad's boat. She LOVED it and did SO great! (As opposed to my child who cried just watching people ski from the shore. Ha ha.)

P.S. Jeremy just started classes (FINALLY) for his second year of school. Let's get this show on the road!!! I have to agree with a recent blog post from a new friend Erin (our husbands study together day in and day out together at school and we just finally met this summer!!!) that the blessings we have experienced over the past year in Omaha with friends, family, neighbors, etc. have truly made this medical school thing so far an overwhelmingly positive experience. Here's to getting another year out of the way!!!
Summer Vacation, part 2
Prepare for a picture overload! We got to spend lots of time with friends, family and each other during the past few weeks in Idaho. We're back to real life now, especially because Jeremy starts school on Monday (it's about TIME - lets just get on with it, shall we???) so I'm enjoying having his brain all to myself (?) for a whole 16 hours.
Anyway, here's some random photos of our very fun trip. These were taken in Mt. Rushmore - my parents took my niece and nephew and met us for a couple of days in Mt. Rushmore. It was a fun stop.
We had plenty going on after we made it to Boise. We signed the kids up for swimming lessons (taught by their Aunt Heidi!) and of course, our buddy's the Youngs did them with us! So we spent a lot of time in the water!
We were also able to get together with the Hartley family - we did a lot of relaxing, swimming and even a little river rafting!

To Hold You Over
Too busy for a post, but for those of you who haven't seen these yet, these are my favorite shots of the kids at the pool. We've been taking swimming lessons the past two weeks and so we usually go swimming before the pool closes for their lesson - so lots of time in the water! (And we got a new (to us) camera that we've been playing with - doesn't it take great pictures???)

Summer Vacation, Part 1
Can I just say that I am in love with my kids? I generally loathe the my kids are the best posts you see on people's blogs - of course they are! Everybody loves their kids! But I just have to say, they were total, total champs on the 2000 MILE roadtrip we took last week. We went from Omaha, to Mt. Rushmore, SD, to Salt Lake City, UT, to Boise, Id. They were SO great. NO potty accidents from Addie (can't say the same for Davis), no real whining, lots of books read and movies watched but they did so. great.
Because we had such a monster drive out here, we have lots of photos and I have no time - way too many friends and family to see!!! So, this is part 1 of many of our summer vacation photos.
We stopped at Old Macdonald's Farm after getting into Rapid City at about noon (those of you doing the math - we left Omaha at 3:00 am. Long enough for Jeremy and I to get enough sleep to feel mostly rested enough to drive, but early enough for the kids to go back to sleep in the car).
Davis is the pen with the calves. He was a total fan until the calves noticed him and walked up to him! I swear all of the baby animals went after him - maybe because he was their size?
Meeting the baby sheep and goats.
We made the kids take pony rides. Addie was not sure of the whole thing, but was a good sport about it.
Davis, on the other hand, screamed for about ten seconds and then LOVED it.
Do you see this face?
Such a serious little guy.
Finally meeting up with Grandma and Grandpa and cousins Zachary and Camilla at the hotel.
Part 2 coming up...eventually.
