Anyway, she did great - she got sealants on her molars and was a little worried about that whole process. Luckily this place had flat screen TVS mounted on the roof above each chair and headphones and she got to watch Sesame Street the whole time!!

Trip to the Dentist
Addie had her first trip to the dentist last week. She did okay - the cute assistant was trying to take some x-rays and Addie wasn't too sure about what was happening. The assistant kept describing it as "It's just going to kiss your cheek" or whatever...and Addie was not having any of that. I finally just told her, "It's going to take a picture of your teeth" and she calmed down and looked at the assistant like, why didn't you just tell me that in the first place???

Wow! That is great that she do so well. Makes me a little more encouraged to get Addy to the dentist. Glad it went well.

ReplyDeleteI guess I don't understand why you would need to put sealant on teeth that are destined to fall out anyway. I guess if someone has the answer it will point out my severe ignorance on this topic.
ReplyDeleteAub, kids won't lose baby teeth until 6 or 7, and molars usually go later like 8 or 9. So you just take care of their baby teeth and try to prevent cavities like you would with any permanent teeth, even though they are 'destined to fall out anyway' LOL ... Had to laugh at your wording. (I can hear that as a great argument for a 4 or 5 year old who doesn't want to brush or floss..."But mom, they're destined to fall out anyway!")
