Quick Update

I thought I better post a quick update! We got home from the hospital on Saturday morning and have had lots of friends and family come to visit - it has been great to see everybody!

Davis is a great, mellow kid (so far!) and is pretty content to sleep, eat, and hang out in the swing. Addison is going through a bit of an adjustment period, but is trying really hard to be a good girl. It doesn't help matters that her top two molars are finishing breaking through and her bottom two molars are starting to cut through. Ouch!!!

It has been great having Jeremy home for the past few days and I'm trying not to think what it will be like at the end of this week when he heads back to work!!!

More Pictures...

Addison would NOT stand still for a photo in her Easter dress. Here she is before church hanging onto Jeremy's leg - he was packing treats for her bag so she was a bit distracted.

Addison has finally shown an interest in being soft and sweet to her little brother. I love this picture!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Yesterday we took Addison to an Easter egg hunt. It was so fun - especially because she's so in to picking things up lately and carrying them around.

Anyway, so she loved carrying her basket and looking for the eggs and putting them in her basket. Couldn't believe some of the older kids that will absolutely BARREL the younger ones to get to an Easter egg. I think Addison enjoyed being around all of the kids as much as picking up the eggs.

Today we will have more Easter fun as we get to visit all of our parents. I will post pics of her in her dress and all of our Easter family fun tonight (hopefully).

P.S. Still no sign of baby - so I guess we'll enjoy life as a family of three for a bit longer!!!!

Here's Jeremy helping her find her way to the eggs...

So fun!!!

Such a funny expression on her face - so many eggs she didn't know where to start! Although right after I took this photo, this girl who HAD to be at least 7 or 8 came through and picked up literally every egg Addie would crouch down to grab. Are you kidding me?!?! Addison didn't mind, she definitely has a pretty laid back personality (most of the time).

Here is Addie and her friend Addison checking out their baskets. They both had a fun time - it was so much fun to watch them, too!

S-L-A-C-K-E-R

I'm sorry I haven't posted in forever! Please stop with the threatening emails!!! :)

We have been keeping super busy with life here - getting things organized for both the new baby and our move to Omaha at the same time. Don't have lots of time to post anymore - but here's some new pictures of Addie.

So one of my girlfriends just had her second baby a couple of weeks ago. She had a planned induction, so that week a few of us went out in the morning to just hang out and relax before she went to the hospital. Jeremy was home that morning and graciously offered to watch our girls while we had some downtime. So nice of him! Anyway, he took of picture of the three girls eating their snacks, and I took the second picture of what the house looked like when we got home!!! Oh well......it was still nice to get out!

Here is Addie and baby Stanley. Stanley's mom is Amanda, who was my roommate out in Washington DC. He was born in December when we were in Mexico. Addie really liked Stanley but we had to be careful she didn't get too rough with him. Thanks for coming to visit, Stanley!!!

Sorry for the fuzzy pictures - Addie would NOT stop moving for one second. This is a little table and chairs that our sweet neighbors who are moving this week brought to us. They were going to get rid of them and Addie is obsessed with sitting on little chairs. Thanks, guys!

Here is a funny picture that Heidi took a couple of Sundays ago when we took Addie to dinner at Grandma Joy's house. Addie LOVES dogs and we are trying to teach her to be soft with them. She LOVES lifting up their lips to see their teeth (yuck!) but luckily all of the dogs in the family have been really patient with her. I just love the smile on her face from the side.

There's a little update of what we've been up to. Jeremy and I and new baby are flying to Omaha in early June to look at places to live. As of last week, I was 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced (yowsa!) so my midwife said I could go anytime and doesn't anticipate me making it much past 38 weeks (I'm 37 weeks tomorrow). So new baby should be coming any time! We will be sure to post as soon as it does.

Love everybody!

She's Everywhere!!!!

Addison has been keeping me on my toes lately. My poor, pregnant, swollen toes. She has been squeezing into the most random places and getting caught. Jeremy and I were at Babies 'R Us looking for a new Pack 'n Play (yes we have gone one full year of parenthood without a pack 'n play) and Addison kept climbing on the lowest display shelf and crawling to the furthest corner away from us. She thought this was pretty funny.

Then we came home that day and she pulled this bright move....

She got stuck on the bottom shelf of her changing table. Poor girl - it was funny so had to take a picture before rescuing her.

Jeremy and I were watching Addie and her buddy (also Addison) last weekend and they were playing together nicely. We were in the kitchen and noticed they were being suspiciously quiet. We checked on them and here is my Addison totally chomping on crayons!!! I love how her buddy looks so innocent....yet who is holding the crayon box????!? Ha ha. Those two girls get into so much together.

She also loves sitting on the low shelf on our sofa table. Sometimes she will just sit back there and look at her books. Jeremy caught her the other day with her snack and juice, chilling on the back of the sofa table.

And finally, my heart is filled with pride whenever Addie performs her newest trick. Blowing raspberries and spit everywhere. I like to think she picked this up from her dad, but in reality have no idea where she picked it up or why she thinks its so hilarious. (Note the totally wet spot on her shirt right under her chin. Really graceful, little girl!!!!)

Even though at times she kicks my butt, I am really enjoying these precious last few weeks of just having one kid to chase after. Sometimes I talk with my girlfriends and it's so hard to keep an eternal perspective of the importance of what we're doing with our kids and families. Somebody emailed this talk to me, and I didn't open it immediately. Then after a particularly long night, and Addie was in bed, I decided to open it and read it. So thankful I did. It's a great talk that helped refill my energy and enthusiasm for being a mom. (That and some night time snacks and sleep....)

Anyway, here is a link. It's called "Mothers Who Know". Sister Beck says, "There is eternal influence and power in motherhood." ....Even if your child eats crayons.

Anyway, anybody needing a boost should definitely take a couple of minutes and look it over.

Hope everybody is doing great!

Happy Birthday, Jeremy!

OK, totally slacking at blogging again. It was Jeremy's birthday on Sunday and we had a nice dinner, then some cake and ice cream with family. Jeremy requested German Chocolate cake and specifically asked that I make it - didn't want me spending money ordering his cake (those of you who know Jeremy aren't surprised).....

Exhibit A of why I ordered Addie's cake from a professional baker..... I am NOT a baker!!!

Despite its looks.....actually was a pretty good cake. Happy Birthday, Jeremy!
