I got home from the gym yesterday afternoon and was getting ready for dinner, when I opened the fridge and saw this:
I asked Addie if she put her toys in the fridge. She said she had. I asked her why they were in there and she said "Mommy, they're in time out." Oh.
I assure you I have NEVER put Addie in time out in the fridge, although she presents an interesting idea....
Such a stinker!

10 Months
Davis is ten months old, as of yesterday. I generally call him "D" or "D-Man". Addie has picked this up and started saying "D-Man" - really cute. Here are some things about Davis:
He is a ball of energy - always getting into things, climbing the stairs, teasing his older sister.
He is a ball of emotions. He is either happy (90% of the time) or mad (10%) - no real in between. True story - when I took him to the doctor about his possible ear infection, she asked me what his symptoms were and I said, "he's grumpy." She looked at me like, "And....." For anybody that knows him, though, he is generally a smiley kid, so that was a sign to us that something was wrong! He is hungry 100% of the time and is definitely a little chubster.
I have learned to embrace blue, trucks and tractors. (It's a nice balance to all of the pink we had before.)

Nothing Much
I'm sorry for the long absence, but I have really and truly had NOTHING to blog about. We have been hanging out at home a lot (see below post) although there was ONE day last week that the weather was randomly 50 degrees and sunny (that's warm for those of you in So Cal) so we went to the park, on a walk - it was lovely. And it's back to snowy and temps in the teens, so time to get creative with indoor activities!!!
Since pictures always make a blog more interesting, here are some leftover from Addie's REAL birthday, which was a Monday night. We made mini-pizzas, she wore her little tiara that my mom sent (which, as you'll see below, was a hit with BOTH kids) and had cake and ice cream.
She helped me decorate the cake earlier that day - it looked pretty interesting!
Addie has been displaying some very...toddler-like behaviors lately. And unlike some of my friends, I took NO child development classes in college and feel like, OK what the heck am I supposed to do??!! (Boy, those PoliSci classes are really paying off!!) Anyway, I checked out a few books from the library to skim over and I thought I'd throw this one out there for anybody who may need some help. It's called Toddler 411 and I like that the author is pretty straightforward about what is realistic expectations for a toddler, etc.
Davis is doing great - he got another ear infection last week, so he's slowly getting back to his normal happy self. (I think it's ironic that Addie who was formula fed had ZERO ear infections and Davis who is NOT has had TWO! I was sitting in the doctor's office with him last week and they have this "Why you should nurse your baby" poster and one of the reasons was "fewer ear infections." Whatever!)
Jeremy's school is going well - I really thought I would be much more interested in absolutely everything he's learning and doing, etc. but with two kids and friends and projects at home it's more of a quick "how was your day" conversation. He generally goes to bed late and is up and out of the house by 6-ish, and is home by 5-ish, which is GREAT for me, but does make for long days for him. Although they just get longer from here, so we are enjoying the time together.
(I have no pictures of Jeremy, so med student cartoons have to do.)
He DID tell me in a very "oh, by the way" manner that he got an Honors grade for his PBL (that's problem-based learning, I have learned some things) group for this last core - which is really great. He's actually got an Honors grade for every PBL this year, so far. It's good news because if you get three or more honors grades, they use it to bump up your average test grade at the end of the semester by 1 point. Are you still with me??? :)
Anyway, I wanted to share and I know Jeremy doesn't make a deal out of it. He really excels in dealing with the practical side of medicine - the clinics (they had to learn sutures this week - on a pigs foot...), the small groups, working with his preceptor, etc. which I knew he would. Anyway, congratulations to him and there are times it's crazy to think we are halfway done with the first year.
I'm doing great - oh, just got a new calling my ward. Are you ready for this?? They want me to teach. Teach NURSERY. That's right. As if I don't have enough day to day experience teaching nursery kids - I now get to spend two hours with them on Sunday!!! Can you believe this? Anyway! The manual is cute and has cute lessons in it. I am teaching "I Can Pray" on Sunday. I'll let you know how THAT goes. :)

Happy Birthday, Addison!
Tomorrow, Addie is two years old. I can't believe it! I found myself all day thinking of what I was doing at that particular time two years ago. (Last year I kept thinking "last year at this time" - this year it's "two years ago at this time" - is this something that ever goes away?)
I remember my water breaking and checking into the hospital at 9:00 am thinking how cool it was that her birthday was going to be January 11th - 1/11. Little did I know the night I had in store! She made her appearance at 3:30 am the next day - January 12th. And our lives have never been the same.
We had a little Elmo party last night for Addie and her buddies - Lauren, Dillon and Bentley. We watched an "Elmo's World" video about birthdays, colored Elmo pictures, decorated cupcakes and just played around. It was so fun to have everybody finally back from the holiday break!
YUMMY!! :)
Addie tried going down head first, which was a new thing! Yes the slide is a HUGE eyesore, but I will have you know the high in Omaha on Thursday is supposed to be FOUR degrees. So we deal with the slide in the basement! :)
This is just a short video of what generally happens with playdates and these girls. They usually will just jump up and down while ALSO squealing at the top of their lungs. Needless to say, they have fun together and Addie fell into bed last night.
Tomorrow we will just have a low-key celebration with some cake, ice cream and presents and just enjoy the day together.
We have enjoyed having Addie in our lives so much - she is so much fun and is really becoming such a great older sister to Davis. Today, Davis woke up at church while the deacons were passing the sacrament (i.e., mostly quiet room) and Addie was so excited he woke up she screamed "Davis! You're awake!!!" So funny.
Happy, happy birthday little girl!!!

Happy New Year!
Well, we are finally getting adjusted back to life here at home.
We had a great visit to Idaho over Thanksgiving/Christmas but are happy to be home. Here are some pictures of our visit. I really didn't take many photos, so you'll have to stalk my family's blogs to see more.
Davis is CRAZY about bath time. He loves the water and is always all over the place. Here he is with Addie and baby Emma (my niece) - he will pull himself up and slip and just get back up and do it again!
Here was my big project - planning my sister's Idaho reception, mainly the decorations. I will have to have my brother send me more pictures of the room - once again, I didn't take pictures - I think it turned out great.
Jeremy and I drove through the night a couple of weeks ago and got home around 10:00 am. (I'm now thoroughly convinced that whenever it is possible, this is the ONLY way to travel with kids.) When we pulled up to our house, I told Addie we were home and she didn't give me any sort of reaction, so we just started to unload the car. As soon as we opened the door from the garage, though, she just started screaming with happiness and clapping her hands. It was so cute and funny.
(Addie playing around while Jeremy and I unpacked after getting home!)
We were able to spend a VERY wild New Years Eve with our friends playing board games and eating treats. It was actually very fun, and although I literally got lapped in points by Jeremy, I am already plotting ways to plan a surprise beat-down of everybody next time we play. Just wait! :)
Addie's also been swimming and played at the park with her friends this week. We are glad to be back home. Jeremy started school yesterday and I think he is glad to be back.
Davis has been changing like crazy the last couple of weeks. He is babbling nonstop and is clapping and shaking his head "no". He was getting up to eat once at night, around 3 am. After we got home and settled, it was time to stop that feeding. And after only one night of about ten minutes of protesting, I am THRILLED to say he is consistently sleeping from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. It's amazing being able to actually wake up and not still feel totally exhausted.
On New Year's Eve, I made some homemade soup, and Davis was fussing so I gave him a carrot stick to play with and caught a couple cute pictures.
He is also climbing the stairs, which is a new trick he showed us the very morning we got back from our trip. We were unloading and putting things away, and he just started up the stairs. It was so fun but scary! I have to watch the kid ALL of the time now, because he is in to everything.
He was pretty pleased with himself!
Lastly, I have to post this video. Addie and Davis have been so cute together lately. I have to be sneaky or else if she sees the camera she just starts saying "cheese".
