We're Here!!!

A lot to blog about and lots to update on, but wanted to do a quick post for family who wanted to be with us this weekend for Jeremy's white coat ceremony but couldn't be here. Plus a few other random pictures from weekend. I will do a more thorough post later.

So the med school had a "white coat ceremony" to welcome all of the new med students and to basically induct them into the medical school. Plus it's the coat they will wear during clinical rotations and when they interact with patients. It's a shorter coat than the one they wear after graduation which is a longer doctor's coat. Anyway, here's some pictures from the event. It was actually really pretty cool.

Here is the Dean of the College of Medicine (CoM) with the Student President and some other high-up administrator.

Here is the Dean helping Jeremy into the coat.

All of the students signed a pledge that outlined a code of conduct and professionalism that they will follow as students of medicine.
Here they are reciting an oath, sort of like the Hippocratic Oath but I guess they don't recite that one until they graduate in four years.

Here's Addison at the ceremony. She was doing great but one of the speakers was giving a "brief" history of the medical school (and it most definitely was NOT brief) so her patience was running out quickly so she got a little restless towards the end of the ceremony. Overall though, I think the kids did great.

Excuse the sweaty faces and flat hair but it is HUMID here and we dry Idahoans are having a hard time adjusting. Anyway, just a nice family picture after the ceremony.

We have met about four other families in Jeremy's class that are married with kids. One of which is actually an LDS family that lives about a mile from us so that is cool. We had them over for dinner tonight and Jeremy is going to drive to the med center with him tomorrow. For his first day of classes! One foot in front of the other, right???

We miss you guys! Come visit. The humidity is not that bad. OK, it is, but our house has AC and a very comfy air mattress, you know that's appealing.

Love you guys!

  1. Seeing those pictures makes it so real. I can not believe you are so far away still does not feel like it. Jeremy looks great in the coat.
